In Loving Memory
Jack- Tuesday April 5th 2011 RIP
The world lost a furry angel today. The beautiful Jack has passed away. Karen and Corin adopted Jack after fostering him for Spitz Rescue. They couldn't bear to part with him and anyone who met him could understand why. He was one of the most beautiful, gentle little souls I have ever met. He is missed terribly by Karen, Corin and his Spitz brother Shiro. You are missed more than you will ever know you lovely cuddle monster. RIP lovely.
Odin(Odie)- Thursday December 9th 2010 RIP
It is with a very sad heart that we have to announce the passing of Odin, the beautiful blind Spitz who stole the hearts of everyone who met him. Odin was a gentle spirit who will be greatly missed by the Gallen family and by all associated with the rescue. Odin came from Monaghan pound, completely blind and in a bad state. It was apparent very quickly just how much spirit this little guy had. People who met him were amazed at how well he coped without sight, he didn't let it stop him one bit, he behaved like any other dog, just full of love, cuddles and mischief! His sudden and tragic loss is a horrible shock to us all. But he knew happiness in the last years of his life and was loved more than words can express. You will always be in our thoughts and hearts little guy xxx RIP

Toby- Saturday November 13th 2010 RIP
Today is a very sad day at Spitz Rescue. The beautiful Toby was killed today on the road outside his home. Workmen left the door open and Toby got out and tried to cross the road to another dog. He was struck by a bus and was killed instantly. Toby was a nervous little mite when he first arrived at Spitz Rescue, but with some tlc he came around very quickly and became such a wonderful little guy. He was a little ray of sunshine, he was the typical beautiful, fun Spitz and he brought smiles to everyone who met him. He was very much loved by his forever family, who are devastated by this loss. I am deeply upset that Toby has met such an end but seek solace in the fact that he was loved and spoiled since the day he was adopted, he knew true love since the day he joined his new family. My thoughts are with Ciaran and family at this time. You are missed and loved more than you will ever know little guy. RIP Toby xxx

Ellie( Sheba) Saturday May 30th 2009 RIP
Little Ellie came into Ashton in an awful state June 2008. She had lost most of her hair, was covered in sores and her neck was out of place. She was a nervous little thing.

I took her into foster immediately. It was very obvious Ellie had also been used for breeding on top of everything else. She found her paws pretty quickly with me and began to get rather cheeky, deciding she 'd like my bed instead of her own

In her famous red jumper, given to her by Marie to keep her warm:

And of course her sitting demurely while my lot were demanding to know where I was going:

After 6 weeks of rubbing bio oil on her skin and washing her sores, her hair began to come back. When she was neutered it was discovered she had cysts on her ovaries and after the operation her hair started to grow back at a rapid pace. She left me for her new life with a wonderful lady and a German Spitz to keep her company, this is her before she left me:
I popped into see Ellie a few months ago and just couldn't believe the difference in her and how happy she was in her new home:

Ellie died in her sleep today, Saturday May 30th 2009. I am absolutely devastated and so upset that this little beauty didn't get longer in her new home, were she was loved and spoilt as she deserved to be. But at least she knew love and kindness in the last year of her short life.
You will always be in our thoughts my little woman, you are at peace now where no one can ever neglect you again xxx
RIP Ellie, love you always
